The treatment of a resident of Trikkur, who lost his sight due to alleged medical negligence at Thrissur Medical College, began at the Eye Hospital in Coimbatore on Monday.
AICC General Secretary and MP KC Venugopal are bearing the cost of his treatment. Sanoop approached the medical school in July 2023 for treatment of knee pain. According to him, an infection developed at the site after an injection was administered to his hand.
The infection worsened, spread throughout the body and eventually affected the eyes. Being a diabetic, his condition continued to deteriorate and he lost his sight. Sanoop’s family claims the complication arose from an injection error.
