Travelers called on other security measures, including regular monitors, on a new bus term on the old Katado road here because of a growing track.
The equipment, located outside the Chennai-Bengalur highway, was opened in June 2021 by the main Minister of MK Stalin. In November 2023, a permanent police base was opened on the deadline. According to standards, ten police workers should be deployed in the facility every day.
The commuters, however, indicated that the existing base, which is located in the buses bound to Chennai, has no adequate staff on duty continuously. In addition, the Terminus does not have a generator backup during the power cuts.
Several private security staff can be seen in the facility when it is capable of high, especially during weekends and festivals. “The paved floors are damaged in many places. The safety of commuting, especially women and children, remains a problem, because we cannot find a police constant in the facility …” said N. Vignesh, who often uses the device.
The existing base, connected to the Vellore North Police, has two rooms with cameras on a closed circuit (CCTV). People can file a complaint on the device .
Corporation officials stated that sanitary workers were deployed to clean the equipment daily. Terminus also has a waste separation facility. Civic officials stated that the district administration and the police were submitted repeated applications for permanent provision of police staff to ensure the safety of commuters at the end. New Terminus – maintained by Vellore Corporation – uses the public for pilgrimage buses such as Tirupati, Tiruvannamalai, Sholinghur and Kancheepuram. Buses to cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Madurai, Tiruchi, Salem and Coimbatore can also start from the terminal. From there, over 75,000 buses are joined every day.
