Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday emphasized that the state should lead the country in observing the National Road Safety Month, which begins on 1
Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar presided over a review meeting with Transport Department officials where he called for the involvement of ministers, legislators, district collectors, police officers and newly elected sarpanches in the initiative.
He pointed out that about 20 people die in traffic accidents every day. He said the aim was to reduce the number of deaths through sustained awareness. He ordered officials to visit schools and colleges, proposed children’s traffic awareness parks in every district and ordered daily activity reports from field officers.
