It is difficult for them to rent a house. If the house is available at all, the rent suddenly doubles. Getting a job is a fight. There are a lot of obstacles when they change their name on certificates. This in turn affects their junior research community and other educational assistance.
These are just some of the challenges and neglect of the transactions of the women in the program organized by the Female Commission of Kerala here on Friday.
The innocent obstacles around the accommodation pointed out that they were also asked to avoid guests in Kochi. Even friends could not visit.
Gender column
It wasn’t easy to change their name on certificates. Even the inability of their gender, because Transgender caused trouble. As a result, they could not apply for allocation cards. This has primarily become a problem for jobs in the private sector. Thus, all certificates should have a gender column, demanding women trans.
Much time was also spent by changing the name on all certificates if Trans women have decided to change their name. Adalat should stick to avoid it. All should obtain identification cards. At the same time, it should be examined whether the cards were abused. Programs of self -employment for women should be expanded. Financial assistance should also be available.
Trans women demanded to be included in the List of Life Mission. It is necessary to take steps to provide them with a health insurance card.
Hormonal drugs
They demanded that hormonal drugs be available in all district hospitals. Current devices for sexual assignment in Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital should be expanded and launched a specialty.
The requirement to perform classes of gender awareness for government employees was also raised in the discussion. Even the female Police Constable did not know what Transgender meant. This resulted in a terrible experience with the police, allegedly some trans women.
If they filed a police complaint, they did not receive a confirmation or investigated in return, they said.
Almost 150 Trans Women participated in the hearing in which the chairwoman of the female commission Keral P. Satheedevi said that the problems facing trans women will be warned by the government.
She stressed that Trans women need to obtain dignity and look for alms. They should be provided by equality at work, education and housing. Kerala should be transformed into a state that may be proud of ensuring gender justice for all, she said.
