
Swimming training will be extended to more schools in the state, said the Minister of General Education by V. Sivankutty.
He spoke to the Valedictor of the Swimming Safety Scheme organized in the WHO-GEORGE Institute for Global Health, the Center for the Prevention of Injury and Care for Traum and Distribution of Certificates.
The Minister said that swimming training was not only about learning life skills, but also about the protection of our future. Learning to swim has given one trust and skills not only to protect themselves, but also to protect others from the accident. The importance of training training has never felt, he said.
The Minister stated that the agreements would be made for the government higher primary school, Nedumcaud, students and their mothers to get swimming training.
Swimming training was devoted to 300 students from government higher primary schools, Ambalathary and the government of the Higher Elementary School Poojappura. The amount of 10 lakh was used for the construction of the pool and training.
The Minister said that swimming and water safety were included in the school curriculum. The state government has also implemented programs to support swimming training and awareness of water safety.
The Beats Department General Education Scheme ensures that children with special needs get scientific swimming training. The local bodies also included annual swimming training in its annual plans, he said.
