Bengaluru Traffic Police registered 979 cases during the week-long special enforcement drive against drunken driving and speeding across the city from April 6 to April 12.
Intensive driving took place simultaneously at all 53 traffic police stations and was aimed at motorists driving under the influence of alcohol and violating speed limits.
