The Hyderabad Traffic Police on Thursday announced diversions in parts of the old city in view of the Chatrapathi Shivaji Jayanthi celebrations and a procession scheduled from Puranapul Darwaza to the Shivaji statue in Imlibun at 11.30 am, followed by a public meeting.
Diversions will take place between 11am and 6pm around Madina, SJ Rotary and Afzalgunj. RTC buses from Shamshabad and Attapur towards Puranapul will be diverted towards Chandrayangutta at Aramghar. Vehicles from Aramghar towards Puranapul will be diverted towards Kishan Bagh and Kamatipura at Bahadurpura junction.
Traffic from Madina towards Bahadurpura will be diverted at Goodwill Café via Parthiwada to Bahadurpura junction. Vehicles from City College towards Puranapul will be diverted at City College towards MJ Bridge. Traffic from Jiyaguda and Karwan via 100 Feet Road towards Puranapul will be diverted towards Jummerath Bazaar and MJ Bridge at Puranapul junction.
RTC vehicles and buses from SJ Rotary towards Shivaji Bridge will be diverted towards Madina, City College and MJ Bridge. Traffic from CBS towards Shivaji Junction will be diverted to Old RTC Depot Road towards Rangamahal as the procession approaches the junction. Vehicles from Afzalgunj and Central Library towards Shivaji Junction will be diverted at Afzalgunj T Junction towards SA Bazar Mosque.
Traffic from MJ Market towards Afzalgunj will be diverted via Malakunta, Alaska, Chatri and MJ Bridge when the procession crosses the SA Bazar Mosque. Vehicles from Afzalgunj towards MJ Market will be diverted towards Central Library at Afzalgunj T Junction.
A separate procession will be held from Moti Nagar to Borabanda bus stand between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM and will pass through Moti Nagar Junction, Snehapuri Colony and Vijetha Theatre. Congestion is expected at Moti Nagar Junction and Borabanda Bus Stand in the evening hours.
