
The traditional ceremony was identified by Auroville’s celebration of the twin 153. The anniversary of the birth of Sri Aurobinda and the 79th day of the Independence of the Nation.
The event was marked by the virtual address of the Minister of Education of the Union Dharndra Pradhan and sophisticated celebrations across the International Black neighborhood of Auroville.
At his address at the Assembly, which included Governor Tamil Nadu RN Ravi, Governor Guduchherry Lieutenant K. Kailashnathan and Secretary of the Auroville Jayanti Foundation, Mr. Pradhan attracted a strong connection between the revolutionary ideas of Sri Aurobindo and the targets of contemporary India.
“Sri Aurobindo did not see independence not as the end of the fight, but as the beginning of the new path where India would lead the world with its spiritual wisdom and strong values,” he said he added that this vision was in line with the premiere of Narendra Modi Viksit Bharat 2047.
Mr. Pradhan also joined the celebrations and led a discussion with Mrs. Ravi and G. Seetharaman, an officer for a special duty, auroville foundation on the growth and educational contributions of the Black Quarter.
Previously, in more places in Auroville, ceremonies of raised flags were held. The event was joined by teams from key institutions, including the Auroville City City Council, the International Institute for Educational Research Sri Aurobindo (Saiier) and the Fund and Management Committee.
