On Monday, up to 377 tourist vehicles visited the Chikkamgalur hills, the first day of the new system that won the entrance passages, started by the Chikkamagalur district.
Tourists from different parts of the state who received entry cards after paying the fixed fee online visited hilly stations. The district administration presented an online reservation system with an effect from September 1 to avoid traffic jams on narrow stripes leading to Mullayanagiri, Seethalayanagiri, Bababudan Giri and other hill stations in Chikkamagalur Taluk.
The place can visit a maximum of 1200 vehicles in two slots.
Lohith, assistant director of the Tourism Department in Chikkamagalur, told the Hindes that the employees of the inspection allowed only those who reserved online. Tourists make reservations for the coming days. As expected, the number of people looking for entry on weekends is higher than the people who visit on weekdays, said.
