At least 19 persons, including five children, were injured when the minibus from Tamil Nadu in Idukki in Idukki rolled over on Wednesday.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 16:30 the police said the vehicle was transporting tourists from Chennai in Tamil Nad to Munnar. The bus was on the way from Nedumkandam to Rajakkad when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the curve. The bus then hit the electric pole before falling into the road ditch.
In addition to the driver, there were 19 tourists on the bus. According to the police, five serious injuries and other minor injuries suffered. The injuries were admitted to the private hospital in Rajakkad. Local residents, firefighting and rescue service staff from Adimala and Nedumkandam and Police Santhanpar and Udumbarchanla managed to rescue.
