Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has declared tourism and creation of hospitality infrastructure as the state’s top priority sector.
While inaugurating the two-day collector’s conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday, Mr. Naidu noted that projects like Wonderla Theme Park coming up in Visakhapatnam and Imagicaa World in Tirupati could be game-changers in the tourism sector, noting that their potential is largely untapped.
Principal Secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain informed the Chief Minister that during the recent CII Partnership Summit-2025, the tourism department signed 209 MoUs worth about ₹30,000 crore in 26 districts, which showed widespread interest in developing tourism infrastructure across the state.
Mr. Naidu told the Industries Department officials to take steps to exclude 82,000 acres of land belonging to AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation from Section 22 A of the Registration Act so that it can be made available to industries. He called for an action plan to improve youth skills to help the government achieve its employment generation targets.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan told the Collectors to focus on improving road connectivity to tribal villages as it was a must for development and implementing the Palle Panduga programme.
He urged them to ensure delivery of services to the citizens in line with the targets set by the coalition government and to enable the Gram Panchayats to generate their own revenue to reduce their dependence on transfer of funds from the state to some extent.
