Top political leaders, including the Chief Minister, two ministers and the Speaker, will cast their votes in Kannur when the local bodies go to polls on Thursday (December 11, 2025).
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accompanied by his family, will vote at Booth No. 1 of Cherikal Junior Basic LP Kattilpeedika in Pinarayi grama panchayat. Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally will cast his vote at Booth No. 1 of Cheruvichery Government LP School in Ward 9 of Panappuzha panchayat, while Minister AK Saseendran will vote at Chovva Dharmasamajam UP School. Lecturer AN Shamseer will exercise his franchise at Punnol LP School in 35th Ward of Thalassery Municipality.
Renowned writer T. Padmanabhan will vote at Ramatheru Voice School in Division 7 of Kannur Corporation. Among the MPs, K. Sudhakaran will vote in Alinkeel Anganwadi in Alinkeel division; P. Santhosh Kumar at Melecho’s Thunchathacharya Vidyalayam in Kappicheri Division of Kannur Corporation; and K. Sivadasan at Parakandam Madrasa in Ward 15 Muzhukkunnu panchayat.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President will cast his vote on mostanthode st. John Baptist English Medium School in Ward 14 Payyam Panchayat. mlas sajeev higher voice in Vayathur Up School in Ward 14 Ulikkal Panchayat; KV Sumesh at Rajas High School in Ward 19 Chirakal Panchayat; M. Vijin at edanad school in Ward 2 of Kunhimangalam Panchayat; ti madhusudhanan in mavicheri AMANWADI in ward 21 of Payannur municipality; And Kp Mohanan will exercise his franchise in Hayathul Islam Madrasa in Ward 15 Puthur.
Since Mattannur municipality does not go to polls, former minister KK Shailaja is not eligible to vote. Similarly, CPI(M) state secretary and Taliparamba MLA MV Govindan will also not be able to vote as there is no polling in Morazha, the second ward of Anthoor municipality where the LDF candidate was elected unopposed. Since it is a municipality, there will be no block or district panchayat voting.
