While this is a good situation, it also puts a lot of pressure on selectors and captains.

“One of the problems with Indian cricket is that there is too much talent. There are just too many options. It’s a wonderful problem, but it becomes a nightmare for a selector or a captain,” Moody said on JioHotstar.Former England captain Eoin Morgan also shared his views, especially on white-ball cricket. He emphasized the importance of a strong bowling unit to win major tournaments. Morgan believes that when a team can defend low scores, it builds confidence and trust. He feels this mindset can make the team very dangerous in competitions like the World Cup. He said: “In white-ball cricket, bowling attacks win you tournaments. When you can defend a low score, it creates a belief in the team that you can win the match from anywhere. That belief becomes a big threat for any team in the World Cup.”These comments come as India announced their squad for the FIFA T20 World Cup 2026. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in his first ICC tournament as captain, with Axar Patel named as vice-captain. The team was unveiled earlier this month by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia at the board’s headquarters along with chief selector Ajit Agarkar.India’s batting looks aggressive and flexible. Known for his explosive style and high strike rate, Abhishek Sharma is likely to open the innings with Sanju Samson. Ishan Kishan returned to the T20 line-up as an off-spinner and wicket-keeper after last playing in 2023.The middle order looks strong, with players like Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Rinku Singh providing both strength and balance. In bowling, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy lead the spin department while Jasprit Bumrah leads the fast bowling attack along with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.India were placed in Group A with Namibia, the Netherlands, Pakistan and the United States. The team will begin their World Cup campaign against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai.
