Mitchell Marsh lit up the Ekana Stadium with his maiden IPL hundred as Lucknow Super Giants took on Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday, May 7. Marsh produced a sensational knock to get his century in just 49 balls. The opener reached the milestone by smashing an attempted yorker from Romario Shepherd through the offside on the boundary.

Marsh also registered the fastest century by an LSG batsman when he surpassed KL Rahul’s 56-ball hundred against Mumbai Indians in 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium. But the bigger question remains whether the knock came too late for the Super Giants. LSG are struggling at the bottom of the table and even a win in all their remaining matches may not guarantee them a place in the playoffs.
