
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to visit the United Kingdom and Maldives from today’s July 23 to July 26.
A visit to the UK is at the invitation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, while a state visit to the Maldives is at the invitation of President Muhammad Muizza, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Visits to Prime Minister Narendry Modi in Britain and Maldives focus on business and defensive cooperation with the formalization of free trade agreements in India, UK, which will be the key result of his trip to London.

PM Modi’s foreign journey comes in the middle of the monsoon meeting of parliament, which began on 21 July.
For the first time, the Prime Minister travels to Great Britain on Wednesday on a two -day trip and then visits the Maldives primarily to love the celebrations of the Independence Day as a “guest of honor”.
PM will leave India around 13:00 to reach London today at 12. 15:00 (IST) 24 July.
Meeting with PM Starmer, King Charles III
According to Foreign Minister Vikram Misri, in addition to extensive interviews with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he will meet Modi during his visit to the UK 23.-24. July.
This is the fourth visit to PM Modi in the UK since the takeover of the office.
Starmer is ready to host Modi on Thursday, July 24 in Checkers, an official country of the British premiere, 50 km northwest of London.
Trade Minister Piyush Goyal and his British counterpart Jonathan Reynolds are likely to sign an agreement on free trade (FTA) in the presence of two prime ministers, people who introduced this matter were quoted in the PTI report.
British companies to export whiskey, cars, other products
In May India and the United Kingdom, FTA sealed, which is expected to benefit 99 percent of Indian exports from tariffs and facilitate British companies to export whiskey, cars and other products to India, except for increasing the total trading basket.

“This visit, though short, will give both leaders the opportunity to review the entire range of bilateral relationships and discuss ways to further strengthen it, as well as discussing issues that are of regional and global importance,” Misri said on media briefing at the beginning of this week.
The day before Modi’s British trip, a cabinet conducted on Tuesday, approved an agreement on free trade in India UK and paved the way for the much -awaited formal signature of the Pact during a modi visit to London on July 24th, two government officials and asked not to be identified.
Asked if FTA would formally signed during a visit to PM Modi in the UK, Misri said that the work continues and it is “at the last minute”.

“We continue working on them and continues at the last minute,” he said.
Bilateral trade in India-UK in 2023-24 exceeded $ 55 billion. The United Kingdom is the sixth largest investor in India with a cumulative investment of $ 36 billion.
Indian investments in the UK is close to $ 20 billion, and approximately 1,000 Indian companies operating in Britain provide employment of nearly 100,000 people.
Extensive security arrangements
It is understood that the British site has taken extensive security measures, including sensitization of security agencies to Indian concerns to avert any attempt for Khalistan to disrupt the visit of PM modi or organize protests.
Foreign Minister said that defense, technology, research, innovation and education have proven to be key pillars of cooperation in India-UK.
“In the defense sector, we see regular interactions and exercises from all three armed forces. We placed military instructors at the Military Academy of others,” he said.
Foreign Minister also mentioned the Technology Security Initiative initiative (TSI) between the two sides, which is focused on Intell’s cooperation, critical minerals, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, semiconductor, advanced materials and quantum calculation.
Independence Day on Maldiv Day 26 July
During your trip 25.-26. July at the Maldives Modi will organize extensive interviews with President Muhammad Muizza and solemnly in India supported development projects in the island nation.
The Prime Minister will also be an honorary guest at the Maldivian Independence Day celebrations of July 26.
“The state visit to the Prime Minister is also the first state visit to the head of the government, which the president has hosted in his Presidency since he took over the office in November 2023,” Misri said.
“Maldives are a very close partner in our neighborhood, a very important partner in the first policy in India and in the vision of Mahasagar, India, which is a mutual and holistic progress for security and growth across regions,” he added.
Misri also mentioned the common vision of India-Maldives for the “comprehensive partnership for economic and maritime safety”, which was completed last year.
“This common vision in a sense has become the main framework for our ties,” he said.
Resetting bilateral bindings
A visit to the Prime Minister in the Maldives is considered important because it is a significant reset of bilateral ties that came under severe tension after the music, known for its pro-Chinese tendencies, became president in November 2023.

Misri attributed a turnover in relation to India worked hard on ties with the island nation.
