Northeast states resisted boycott of extremist groups to celebrate the 79th day of independence in the country and prevent a stray incident in the capital of Meghalaya Shillong.
Officials said Miscreanti transmitted motorcycles threw a petrol bomb in the Pasteur Beat House early on Friday (August 15, 2025) in the morning. The police vehicle was partially damaged in the attack, suspicious that young people were carried out with the forbidden Hynniewtre National Liberation Council, one of the extremist groups that called a boycott.
In their speeches, independence Day outlined their plans. While most were positive, Assam’s Himanta Bisw Sarma warned of the future, when the Assam people would be at the mercy of “unknown people” unless they defend their identity.

He said that bureaucracy under previous governments that promises to continue against the insroachment to regain government countries, said that bureaucracy under previous governments will have to explain how “infiltrators” can take over forest land and inform grazing.

Green projects in Arnacal

Naga’s political problem
Nagaland’s main Minister NEIPHIU Rio urged citizens to maintain unity, peace and cultural pride while working on a separate and inclusive state. He said that solving the “political problem of Naga” remained the highest priority of his government.
This problem concerns the peace process between the center and the NAGA extremist groups since 1997.
