To appoint an expert committee for NEP-2020 without RSS members: CWC member

Former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president and Congress Working Committee member Gidugu Rudra Raju on Monday demanded formation of an expert committee without those associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for a comprehensive education policy by replacing the new Education Policy 2020 for reforms in the education system.

Mr. Raju claimed that as many as 152 cases of paper leakage of various competitive examinations, including NEET and CBSE, were reported during the 12-year rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the National Testing Agency (NTA) and vice-chancellors of many leading universities are headed by RSS members. The future of these bodies and institutions will be a question without a comprehensive education policy designed by an independent body,” Mr. Raju said.

Addressing student protests at Jantar Mantar, Mr Raju said the families of the 22 NEET aspirants who ended their lives after the question paper was leaked should be given compensation on a war footing. Mr. Reddy demanded a government job for the family of each of the 22 students who ended their lives after the NEET paper leak.

Mr. Reddy lamented that the Prime Minister should be held responsible for any damage caused to the country as none of the ministries are allowed to function independently.
