Federation of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation All employee unions staged a protest on Tuesday demanding that the state government provide pension to all pensioners of the company.
Although the corporation employees are paid at par with state government employees, they do not receive pensions. They receive only ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 as monthly pension through the 1995 Employees’ Pension Scheme, which is barely enough to meet their monthly expenses.
“We urge the government to provide a pension of ₹9,000 on compassionate grounds as is done in other corporations,” said K. Ilavali, INTUC.
