Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) told superintending engineers not to collect network fees for roof installations of solar energy from industrial consumers who went to the collection of fees.
TNPDCL, head of TNPDCL, said in communication of April 3, 2025 that from 22 October 2021 fees for network networks were collected for installing roof solar energy and some consumer and consumer associations with high voltage and consumer associations filed a case against the accusation. The court, in the judgment issued on December 22, 2024, decided in favor of the petitioners.
Therefore, current consumption fees should be charged together with network network fees for those who have the installation of solar energy on the roof. If the consumer asks for the exemption of fees on the basis of a court order, he should not be collected. Meanwhile, TNPDCL decided to file an appeal in front of the divisional bench of the Madras High Court and will issue separate instructions to return the collected fees.
The Spinners South India Spinners Association has welcomed communication and stated that those who did not go to court should now cause an exception.
