Sainik Schools Corporation under the Union Ministry of Defense has shortlisted another school in Tamil Nadu for consideration for candidates appearing in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026. SRRI SPK Public High School in Namakkal district has joined the state’s list of schools for consideration, a company announcement said.
Apart from Sainik School in Amaravathinagar in Tiruppur district, Vallaba Vidyalaya in Madurai, Kailash Maansarovar School in Salem and Jayanthi Public Senior Secondary School in Tiruppur were among the list of “approved new Sainik schools” based in Tamil Nadu, according to the AISSEE 2026 newsletter issued by the National by agency for and National Society test. on October 10.
In terms of reservation in 33 Sainik schools across the country, 67% seats are reserved for permanent residents of the state/union territory where the Sainik school is located and 33% are for candidates from other states/union territories. However, seat reservation in Sainik schools is subject to the outcome of an appeal filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, according to the bulletin.
