The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government is set to hold its first investment transformation conclave in November to announce how many investment commitments made since it came to power have translated into actual projects on the ground.

Sources said the event will be held in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. To date, the TVK government has signed 112 MoUs worth over ₹1,14,812 crore.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce S. Keerthana will visit Germany in the first week of November 2026. He is expected to meet key companies across sectors, sources added.

According to details shared by Michael Hasper, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, more than 120 German companies, including subsidiaries and joint ventures, are established in Tamil Nadu and the number is still growing. After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu is the second largest destination for German FDI in India.

“German companies are particularly strong in automotive manufacturing and components, engineering, industrial automation, electrical engineering, chemicals and renewable energy. Major investors include BMW, Daimler Truck, Bosch, ZF, Siemens, Schwing Stetter, SEW-EURODRIVE, Herrenknecht, Nordex and Knorr-Bremse,” Mr Hasper said.

“German companies are also increasingly investing in software development, engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Global Capability Centers (GCC), including Bosch in Coimbatore, BMW TechWorks and Hapag-Lloyd in Chennai,” he added.

Asked what potential German companies see in Tamil Nadu and which sectors offer the greatest opportunities for future investment, Mr Hasper said: “We are currently witnessing a strong new wave of German investment in Tamil Nadu. Large German corporations are expanding their operations, while an increasing number of German Mittelstand companies are discovering Tamil Nadu as a strategic location for manufacturing, engineering and global supply chains.”

During former Chief Minister MK Stalin’s visit to Germany in September 2025, 26 investment deals worth around ₹7,020 crore were signed. These included major investments by Knorr-Bremse, Nordex and Vensys Energy, as well as expansions by established German investors such as BASF, Herrenknecht and Witzenmann.

“This strong investment momentum has continued under Chief Minister Vijay. At the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave in Chennai in August 2026, Daimler Truck announced a further investment of ₹4,000 crore to expand its BharatBenz manufacturing and R&D facilities in Oragadam. Germany’s BITZER announced the setting up of its first ₹3,000-crore manufacturing facility in India. air conditioning compressors in Kancheepuram.” said Mr. Hasper.
