Main Minister Tamil Nadu and President DMK MK Stalin on Tuesday (September 23, 2025) criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his statement that Indians could save Crore 2.5 GBP through GST reforms and income tax relief.
“This is exactly what the opposition has demanded from the very beginning. If these measures were taken eight years ago, families across the country would save a lot of Lakh Crores more,” he said.
Mr. Stalin said it was his duty to emphasize that 50% of this relief actually bears the government of the state, the fact that the Union’s government has not “recognized and appreciated”.
“On the other hand, the BJP government denies the funds that belongs to the states. Tamil Nadu is denied #samagrashiksha funds just because we refuse to accept #hindiimosiosis. When this injustice will end,” he asked.
The chief minister further accused: “India cannot grow by punishing states that defend their rights and worth their people. Respect federalism, releases funds and let people benefit from what is right!”
