
Main Minister MK Stalin spoke at a meeting with V-CS and registers 16 April 2025
Tamil Nadu main Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) called on the overworking of the curriculum and teaching methodology, for a counseling meeting organized by the Vice-CS (V-CS) and registers of all state universities.
It is the first such consulting meeting organized by Mr. Stalin. Tamil Nadu currently has 21 universities operating under the Ministry of Higher Education. The meeting included discussions about their operation and ongoing development plans.
The meeting also comes after the state government announced 10 acts related to the university that submitted the Supreme Court’s judgment that various accounts concerning universities that have gathered and awaited with the President were considered to be granted consent.
Mr. Stalin, who spoke at a meeting held at the Secretariat, said that the future plan for the state is looking for a graph is based on three pillars: relevant education, jobs and inclusion. “We have to think about these three columns.”
“The world is changing rapidly as never before. Factors like AI, Green Energy, Industry 4.0 determine the economy. University must prepare students according to growing needs,” he said. New fields such as data science, renewable energy and advanced production should be added to the curriculum, such as data, Mr. Stalin said.
Students should be trained in such a way that they are not mere graduates, but persons who can provide innovative solutions. We should connect with industrial and design courses that reflect global needs and support learning in multiple fields, he said.
Mr. Stalin also called on the proposals to further strengthen the scope of the Pet project, Naan Scheme Mudhalvan Scheme, which aims to provide youth training on the development of skills associated with employment.
He also called for the location of the campus and the expansion of educational programs. Mr. Stalin emphasized inclusivity and justice. He said that the power of Tamil Nadu is in a firm focus on social justice, and asked universities to create inclusive campuses.
“It is my dream that Tamil Nadu University is becoming a global headquarters for research and innovation,” he said. “As in Kamaj’s eraj, the golden age of school education was the golden age of collegial education, the era of the bird of prey must be remembered as the golden age of higher and research education. Your support is to achieve this goal,” he added.
In his final remarks, Mr. Stalin also pointed out that due to economic and work policy adopted by US President Donald Trump, he can carry out research work in this talent in this talent.
Only scientific temperament should be taught at universities. There is no room for dividing views or activities in educational institutions and there should be no compromise on this matter, he said.
