DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant and party youth wing secretary V. Vijayaprabakaran will contest from Vriddhachalam and Virudhunagar assembly constituencies.
A party statement on Saturday said Ms Premallatha is seeking the constituency from which her husband and DMDK founder Vijayakant was first elected to the Assembly in 2006.
Mr. Vijayaprabakaran will be looking to reverse his fortunes in Virudhunagar in 2026 after fighting and losing a close contest in the Virudhunagar parliamentary constituency by a margin of 4,379. He polled 52,855 votes in the Virudhunagar assembly segment alone.
The party was allotted 10 assembly constituencies and a Rajya Sabha seat from the DMK. Party treasurer LK Sudhish was recently elected as a Rajya Sabha member.
The party has fielded V. Elangovan from Dharmapuri, former Azhagapuram MLA R. Mohanraj from Salem West, AR Ilangovan from Omalur. Former MLA L. Venkatesan was pitted against AIADMK heavyweight C.Ve. Shanmugam in Mailam constituency. D. Murugesan will contest from Pallavaram, D. Krishnamoorthy from Tiruttani and KB Prathap has been fielded from Gudiyatham (reserved). TP Saravanan was deployed in Polur.
