AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Saturday said that Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin was not campaigning to become the next Chief Minister. The intention was to make his son Udhayanidhi Stalin the next chief minister, he said at a rally near Tiruvottiyur Temple Car.
While campaigning for his party’s candidate K. Kuppan, he said that the people of the state will make the ruling party realize that there is no (political) space for the (Mr. Stalin) family. The AIADMK chief assured the public that rule of law would be the first act to eliminate the drug menace problem if his party comes to power.
While campaigning in RK Nagar, Mr. Palaniswami refuted Mr. Stalin’s claim that the electoral battle was between Tamil Nadu and New Delhi this time. At the time of the formation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), it was clear that the AIADMK would lead the coalition. When the NDA secures a majority, the AIADMK will form the government, Palaniswami added.
