After protests by Left party leaders and members of the Andhra Pradesh Parents Association, the police registered a case and started an investigation.
Additional Superintendent of Police K. Ravi Manoharachary told the media that a preliminary investigation revealed the alleged involvement of “bouncers” and employees belonging to the university.
After rescuing the victims, the police arrested Ravura Satheesh (PRO UMB), K. Surendra, P. Rajesh, P. Janaki Ram, Ch. Badrinadh, L. Muni Chandra, C. Surendra, P. Hemanth, N. Vasudeva, A. Muni Teja, C. Krishna Chaitanya, P. Vishesh and M. Dwaraka Sai Prathap, who were allegedly behind the attack.
“The defectors among the accused will be arrested soon and special teams have been formed for the hunt,” he said.
