Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorty and sought help from the Ministry of the Interior of the Union to direct state and central authorities to start a detailed and impartial investigation of repeated administrative and security failures on the most worshiped temples in the state. The deputy wrote a letter the day after the collapse of the wall in Simhalam, who requested the lives of seven devotees.
Mr. Gurumoorty and in a letter addressed to the Minister of the Union Amit Shah expressed concern about a series of alarming administrative failures, violations of security and system sinks in some of the most respected Andra Pradesh temples that resulted in tragic loss of life and erosion of public trust.
“April 30, during the fabulous Chandanotsavam festival in Simhamam in Visakhapatnam, a newly constructed wall made of bricks-ash-fired only 20 days-collapsed and claimed the lives of seven innocent devotees and injured several others.
Mr. Grumoorty raised the problem of mysterious deaths of several rare and sacred Indian stars in the temple of Sri Kurmanath Swama in Slicurmam in the district of SRIKAKULM. He said that mysterious death caused extensive horror among devotees and conservationists. “The reports indicate poor maintenance, suspicious fire incidents in the temple and unlawful cremation of these sacred creatures without compulsory post of mortal tests, violations of laws on the protection of wild animals and traditional practices,” he pointed out.
The deputy also expressed concern about the continuing violations of security in Tirumale. Despite repeated warnings and representations after incidents, such as Stamde 8 January, no essential corrective measures have been taken by Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Recent violations, including cases where the devotees have reached the main entrance of the temple, wear shoes, although they have passed through three layers of safety, emphasized serious failures in the protocol, supervision and coordination between security agencies, ”he said.
Increasing the problem of death of more than 100 cows in TTD Goshale as a result of alleged neglect, poor management, poor feed quality and insufficient veterinary care, the deputy stated that it indicates a system collapse in the proceedings of the temple. “The absence of a specialized security head and unrelated functioning more agencies have seriously endangered the safety of pilgrims and the sanctity of these honored temples,” he said.
The deputy was looking for intervention by the Ministry of the Interior of the Union to take the necessary steps to ensure responsibility, strengthen the administration and restoration of the faith of millions of devotees.
