Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) recently received a grant of 105 hearing aids worth ₹20 lakh, as part of the Sravanam project. At the administration building in Tirupati, former TTD Adviser on Futuristic Projects, Amar Nagaram on behalf of his son Virat Nagaram handed over 105 donations of hearing aids to TTD Executive Director (EO) Anil Kumar Singhal on Monday.
“Virat of Tirupati donated 105 hearing aids worth ₹20 lakh on TTD on Monday. The hearing aids were handed over by TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal,” said an official press release of the temple body.
Those children who successfully complete the training in Project Shravanam will receive these hearing aids. According to Amar Nagaram, this device will help the children overcome the challenges associated with hearing impairment after completing their training.
It is important to note that TTD is the richest Hindu shrine in the world which is the official custodian of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
Panchami Teertham
This development comes at a time when Panchami Theertham festivities are underway in Tiruchanoor. In a post on X, TTD said, “Preparations for Panchami Theertham are underway in Tiruchanoor, with Pushkarini ready for the holy occasion. Devotees will take a sacred dip in a safe, well-arranged environment once TTD completes all arrangements.”
In particular, extensive arrangements have been made for Panchami Teertham to ensure smooth execution of pilgrimages. Temple authorities have arranged queue management, shelters, drinking water and security arrangements for thousands of visiting devotees.
The Tiruchanoor Sare procession of Tirumala started from the Tirumala temple in the early hours of November 25. The pre-dawn rituals began with the Parimalam procession. “The saree will be carried on temple elephants, which will circumambulate the four streets of Mada and then head to Tiruchanoor,” said a November 24 press release.
