The Cyber ​​Crime Police arrested Tiruchi Suriya, son of DMK Rajya Sabha MP Tiruchi Siva, in connection with the posting of a video on a YouTube channel that allegedly contained defamatory, obscene and derogatory remarks against a woman.

The social media investigation wing of the Cyber ​​Crime Branch (CCB) has taken action based on a complaint filed by a Chennai woman on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) with the Commissioner of Police.

According to the complainant, the video uploaded on YouTube channel “MY INDIA 24×7” contained obscene, offensive and sexually explicit remarks against her and her newborn twins, affecting her dignity and privacy.

Based on a tip-off, a case was registered at the CCB Cyber ​​Crime Police Station and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the police arrested Tiruchi Suriya. He was to be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Saidapet.

Police Commissioner A. Amalraj warned that posting obscene, defamatory or otherwise illegal content targeting women on social media platforms and websites is a serious offense and strict legal action will be taken against those involved in such activities.
