The DMK announced its candidates for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) evening.
The candidates are three-time Tiruchi MP N. Siva and key speaker Constantine Ravindran. It is a record of sorts for Mr. Shiva, who will enter the Rajya Sabha for the fifth time.
DMK allotted one seat each to Congress and DMDK. Thursday (March 5, 2026) is the deadline for submitting nominations for the biennial.
