Tiruchi Corporation identified the building to set up another kitchen to expand the breakfast of the main minister in the city.
Currently, a centralized cuisine is operated in the SYED Murtuza school complex near Marakkadai to prepare breakfast for basic pupils within this program. The kitchen gives nutritious food to about 7,500 students in approximately 75 government and help schools in the city.
With the expansion of the breakfast scheme at several schools, the company identified the unoccupied building near Circuit House in Mannarpuram, extended over 6,000 square feet to create another kitchen. The building served as a micro composting center.
“Renovation and modification work would soon be started and expedition points, storage spaces and other equipment will be developed. We expect to complete the work within one month,” said V. Saravanan, Commissioner of Corporation. The civic body would create a device for plants and tools for drinking water RO for the kitchen.
The project would start using the general funds of the company and it is estimated that it will cost about 60 lakh. In the kitchen, breakfast adds about 9,500 classes 1 to 5 in 90 government schools, which are located throughout the city, including two schools in Panchayats.
The facility will operate between 4:00 and 6:00 on the school days and breakfast will reach all schools before 8:00, when the routes maps will be planned to deliver food on time, he added.
