A 28-year-old man died after being hit by an express train while crossing the railway tracks between Sanjeevaiah Park and James Street stations in the early hours of Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Mujeeb, a scrap worker from Musheerabad, was reportedly crossing the tracks with two friends when the incident took place. According to the Secunderabad Government Railway Police, the trio was in a drunken state at the time.
An unknown train hit Mujeeb, leading to his death on the spot, while his friends fled in fear.
The police registered the case and sent the body for autopsy. Further investigation is underway.
