US President Donald Trump is ready to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday to discuss the ceasefire agreement for Ukraine to help end the deadliest war in Europe since World War II. According to Reuters, Trump has already left for Alaska, where they are planned soon.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky was not invited to interviews. However, Trump said that if the planned conversations go well, it would be organized by the second three -way summit with green.
Trump said earlier that he would end the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours”. On Thursday, however, he agreed that he proved to be a harder task than he expected.
Ukrainian European allies expressed skepticism about the meeting of Trump-Tempin and stated that the US President could sell Ukraine by recognizing Russian control over one fifth of Ukraine.
Before he joined Air Force One on Friday, Trump said, “I’m not here to negotiate for Ukraine, I’m here to get them to the table.”
Where are Trump and Putin meetings on Friday?
Both presidents would meet at the Air Force base in the Cold War in the largest Alaskan city.
Reports suggest that, in addition to the ceasefire, the Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev said that these two would also discuss the complete spectrum of bilateral relations.
Trump is pushing on a ceasefire in a war that lasts more than 3.5 years. For Putin, the meeting can be considered a victory and evidence that the years of Western attempts to isolation of Russia were not as successful as they would like.
Both are scheduled to meet around 11:00 (Alaska) 15 August. According to Indian time, it will start around 12:30 am on August 16. Trump will initially meet Putin on his plane.
