“We have seen him take charge for a number of years but I think now is the time for him to pass the baton to the likes of Ayush Mhatre, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad,” he said. “CSK’s ideology has changed. It will be key for the youngsters to learn from MS Dhoni’s experience.”

Chennai Super Kings have made bold moves ahead of IPL 2026, promoting youth and firepower in equal measure. The five-time champions made one of the most talked about deals of the season and joined Sanju Samson via cash trade with Rajasthan Royals.
With Samson widely tipped as the next man to don the gloves for CSK, the transition Pathan is talking about is closer than ever.
