The incident forced him to miss the Masters for the second straight year as he focuses on his medical and legal status. Despite a plea of innocence, the episode raised new concerns about his well-being and future.

His car hit a trailer and overturned, though luckily no one was injured.He admitted he had taken medication earlier and was distracted just before the crash. During field sobriety tests, officers observed difficulty with movement, which Woods attributed in part to his long history of surgery.After the incident, Woods made it clear that he prioritized recovery. “It’s imperative that I prioritize my well-being and work towards a permanent recovery,” he said. He also added, “I am committed to taking the time necessary to return to a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally.”

It’s not the first time Woods has taken a break after a crash. A similar incident in 2009 also led to his retirement from the game. Injuries have been a constant challenge in recent years, including multiple back and leg surgeries that have limited his appearances since 2024.Now 50, Woods is not only putting his playing career on hold, he’s also stepping down from his role on the PGA Tour. His absence will be felt on and off the field given his impact on the sport.
