Deep-rooted caste discrimination, untouchability and superstition prevailed in pre-independence India. It was BR Ambedkar, a humanitarian visionary, who drafted a constitution accepted by the entire nation and laid the foundation for equality and justice for all, said Kalaburagi South MLA Allamaprabhu Patil.
He was speaking after paying floral tributes to the chief architect of the Institute on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary celebration of Dr. Ambedkar.
