Once again it is a year for Thrissur. Paarram is around the corner and the city is already busy. Thekkinkada Maidan, the main place of Charam, is decorated. The annual exhibition is turned on and the construction of pandals proceeds in three places.
Although the annual affair, Thrissur Paarram never feels routine. For local people, each Paarram is as exciting as the first. It is often said that waiting for PARRAM is more exciting than the festival itself.

6th May is the day of a big spectacle. However, the energy level will rise from May 4 with a “scamper” sample “(prelude to fireworks) that attracts massive crowds. It’s not just fireworks. The streets will overflow fans of elephant ornaments (Chamayam) and Pandal exhibitions.
Jumbo ornaments
It is impossible to imagine Thrissur Paarram without beautiful ornaments that convert elephants into grandeur icons. Months before the festival, workshops – Chamayapura – solves and improves the signature of the regalia festival. The core of this shimmering glory is Nettiptatma-gold forehead, which lends elephants in the parade of majesty. Even children in Thrissur can distinguish every design; This is the cultural imprint of this art. With each nettiptat that has its own unique pattern, there are more than decorations – they are inheritance.
Showstopper
Decorated umbrellas are another showstopper. Paradekavu and Thiruvambadi Devaswoms keep their signature umbrellas with carefully guarded secrets until the moment of Kudamattom, the live umbrella replacement performed at the top of the elephants in the display of color and creativity. Umbrellas made of satin and silk, in detail with sequins and metal lace, define a spectacle.
Venchamaram, traditional white biscuit fans and alavattom, dazzling circular fans created from Peacock Feathers, contribute to elegance, both dominated Flair during the festivities.
Thrissur Paarram is more than just a festival, it’s emotion. And as the city is preparing again, all roads lead to the core of the most famous celebration of the state.
