District Collector and District Election Officer Arjun Pandian said preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll have been completed across the district.
Thrissur district has a total of 26,50,163 voters, of which 12,64,500 are male, 13,85,628 are female and 35 are transgender. There are 2338 polling stations in the district.
A district meeting of representatives of recognized political parties was convened on Sunday under the chairmanship of the District Collector to discuss the schedule and details of the SIR.
A Stall Level Officer (BLO) has been appointed for each stall. A BLO supervisor was assigned to every ten booths to monitor their activities. Training for BLOs and supervisors has already been completed. BLOs will send two hard copies of the enumeration form containing the name and contact details of the official to each household.
Those who are not currently on the electoral roll will receive Form 6 and a declaration form. Voters are required to complete one copy of the enumeration form and return it to the BLO. Forms can also be submitted online through voters.eci.gov.in or ECINET mobile app. Voters who are temporarily away can authorize close family members to sign and submit the form on their behalf. No other documents are required along with the enumeration form.
The Electoral Commission has scheduled the distribution and collection of forms for the period from November 4 to December 4. The draft electoral roll will be published on December 9 and will include all forms received by that date. Each polling station can accommodate a maximum of 1,200 voters.
Once published, objections and claims can be filed from December 9, 2025 to January 8, 2026. After all claims and objections have been reviewed, the final voter list will be published on February 7, 2026.
An appeal against the election registration officer’s decision can be filed with the district collector. The printing of enumeration forms has been completed and a public and party help desk has been set up at the district level, the collector said. Contact for technical support: 0487-2631036
Mr. Pandian assured that every eligible person will be included in the list and the existing discrepancies will be resolved to prepare a flawless voter list. “All arrangements have been made to make the process simple and hassle-free for voters,” he said, calling for cooperation from all political parties and the public.
Meanwhile, Deputy Election Commissioner Sanjay Kumar also held a review meeting with the District Election Officer and Electoral Registration Officers on the progress of Special Intensive Review (SIR) in the collectorate.
