Three youths were killed in separate road accidents in Fort Kochi and Edakochi on Monday (March 30, 2026). In the first incident, Calvin Jacob, 24, and Sooraj, 25, both natives of Rameswaram in Thoppumpady, died after the bike they were riding hit an electric pole at Nazareth in Fort Kochi.
The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. Although both were taken to a nearby hospital, they succumbed to their injuries.
In another incident, 20-year-old Ananthakrishnan, a native of Pallurutha, died after two bikes collided near Kannangattu Bridge in Edakochi. Preliminary investigations indicate speeding as the cause of both the accidents, police sources said.
