A 48 -year -old leather trader escaped the unharmed after his electric scooter on Tuesday set fire to his house in Vaniyambadi in Tirupatura. The police said B. Shabir Ahmed, a leather trader, bought a new e-bike a few months ago. After completing the vehicle’s routine service, Ahmed returned to his e-kole to his house. He then plugged a bike for charging on the porch of his house. After some time, Ahmed noticed the smoke coming out of the wheel and broke out. Immediately the fire absorbed the entire vehicle and spread to the neighboring two regular two wheels. The inhabitants and neighbors tried to block the fire, but they couldn’t do it. They alerted the city police and firefighters Vaniyambadi, who after almost half an hour rejected the fire. The police said the reason for the incident could be an electric short circuit. They also stated that charging the vehicle could cause fire for too long, as the vehicle has just returned from a complete reworking carried out in the service center.
The police said it was not the first time the electric scooters were ignited. In February 2023, an electric scooter parked in the veranda of the house in Vaniyambadi near Tirupattur. The vehicle was left to charge the previous night before the owner of the S. Ihsanallh went to sleep. The fire gathered his bike and meter. In March 2022, a 49 -year -old man and his daughter died of suffocation after his new electronic bikes came out in front of his house on Balaman Street in Chinna Allakuram near the Old Town in Vellore.
