Three students were seriously injured after the collapse of a window translation in government boys of Higher Elementary School, Kote, Devanahali Town, near Bengalur, 25 August.
The left leg of one student was broken. Of the three injured students, one remains admitted in Hosmat Hospital, while the other was moved to Victoria Hospital for further treatment. One student who was accepted at the Bowring Hospital was released.
Minister of School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangappa visited injured students in hospitals 26 August.
He assured his parents that all treatment expenses would be fully carried by the Ministry of School Education and Literacy (DSEL). He ordered officials to monitor the health of students continuously.
The Minister ordered the officials of the Public Work Department (PWD) to carry out a thorough inspection of the school building and submit a detailed report.
The head of the district officials, including the deputy Commissioner (DC) and the CEO (CEO) of the Bengalur of Rural Zilla Panchayat, visited the school and issued the necessary instructions.
“The safety of children is our highest priority. The government will ensure proper care, medical support and strict measures to avoid these incidents in the future,” Madhu Bangarappa said.
Complaint against Bel
The school head filed a complaint against Bharat Electronics Limited (Bel), which built the building on the basis of the initiative of social responsibility (CSR).
“The building of this school was built by Bel in 2015 through CSR funds. However, it is not a very old building. However, because of poor construction work, three students were injured when the window translated.
