Three people were killed and two others seriously injured when their car collided with a bus in nearby Morayur on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Sakeena (42), Fasila (19) and Shiyas (23).
Shiyas was behind the wheel when the car lost control and collided head-on with a bus coming from Palakkad. They were returning from the Calicut airport.
The car was heavily damaged in the accident. Though Sakeena and Fasila were taken to a private hospital in Kondotty, they could not be saved. Shiyas was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Manjeri. But he too died soon.
Two other passengers in the car, Afreeda and Ibrahim, were admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode with serious injuries.
