
Three people from Andhra Pradesh were selected for the Awards-2024 National Awards to be submitted by President Drouted Murmu during the 11th National Handloom Day celebrations on August 7 in Nový Dilli.
Andhra Pradesh is one of the five states to receive the Sant Kabir Handloom Award award, awarded to the recognition of excellent weavers who significantly contributed to the growth of the sector.
According to the release of the Ministry of Textile 21 July (Monday), Sreenivasulu Lakka was selected for the Sant Kabir Handloom Award and two more, Murali and Jujare Nagaraja were selected for the National Handlooom Award.
The Sreenivasulu pouring was chosen for its work on Venkatagiri Jamdhani Sarees. Meanwhile, Karnati Murali and J. Nagaraju will receive a prize for their contribution to more diamond ties and colorful silk Saree and design development.
According to the edition, five awards are Sant Kabir and 19 national awards. Sant Kabir will receive a cash price of 3.5 GBP Lakh, a gold coin, a certificate of recognition and scarf. National Handloom will receive a cash price of 2 lakh, certificate and scarf.
