Calcutta:
Three accused in a Rajasthan murder case were arrested from Kolkata on Thursday (October 16, 2025). When locals called the police, the accused were hiding in a housing society in Kolkata. One accused remains on the run.
The four men were wanted in the October 7 murder of a businessman in Rajasthan and were finally nabbed by the Kolkata Police from Narkeldanga area under the jurisdiction of Phoolbagan police station. The three men who were arrested are Ganpat Gurjar, Mahesh Gurjar and Dharmendra Gurjar. They were wanted in the murder case of Ramesh Rulania, a businessman from Rajasthan.
The local police were informed after locals in the Narkeldanga area saw three suspicious men roaming around their locality. A police patrol arrived at the scene and questioned them about their identity and whereabouts. Their stories did not match, which made the officers suspicious.
“They were subjected to a prolonged investigation which revealed that the arrested persons are allegedly wanted in a murder case at Kuchaman Police Station, Didwana District, Rajasthan. Accordingly, the SHO of Kuchaman Police Station was contacted and he also confirmed their involvement,” a senior Kolkata Police officer said on Friday (October 17).
The accused also tried to run away when the police tried to apprehend them but remained unsuccessful.
The three accused have been kept in police custody and are awaiting formal handover to the Rajasthan Police for further formal investigation.
