Three LPG cylinders explode in a suspected illegal warehouse
Three LPG cylinders exploded at an allegedly illegal gas depot in East Bengaluru’s Kaggadasapura on Wednesday, triggering panic among residents and students of a nearby school.
The incident took place in a makeshift shed where many commercial, domestic and mini LPG cylinders were allegedly stored. The police suspect that there may have been illegal filling of gas in the area.
No injuries were reported in the incident. However, residents panicked after hearing a loud explosion followed by a fire. The impact of the explosion reportedly damaged the window panes of a neighboring building.
The police registered the case and started an investigation. They are looking for the owner of the house to find out the circumstances leading to the explosion and to check whether there was any illegal storage or refilling of gas on the premises.
