The Khammam Two Town police on Sunday arrested BRS town unit president P. Nagaraju and his two associates for allegedly obstructing police on bandobus duty and injuring One Town police inspector Karunakar during a BRS protest rally.
According to the police, the protesters violated the conditions set for the protest rally and staged a dharna at the Yelland junction during the demonstration, leading to traffic disruption.
They obstructed the police in the discharge of their duties and caused a ruckus when they tried to stop them from burning an effigy of the government, the police said.
The injured CI, who suffered a fractured hand, was taken to a local private hospital for treatment.
The three arrested were sent to custody.
Further investigation is underway.
