The three international Ganja Transporters were arrested on Friday by the working group of the southeast zone and the Bandlaguda police while trying to sell more than 25 kilograms of dry marijuana. The confiscated smuggler, weighing 25.612 kilograms, is awarded at 3.9 Lakh.
The joint team that worked on Tip-off captured the Bandlagud X Cavers and detained three accused. They were identified as Mohammad Shameerulla Baig, 35, Bodogugu Rajesh, 26, and Sonkavalli Naresh, 29, all residents of Rajahmundra in the East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
According to an officer from the working group, Shameerulla and Rajesh were former business partners who came across losses. In the face of growing debts, they decided to make quick money through illegal drug trafficking and joined in Naresh to help with transport and sale.
July 22, the trio received 25 kilograms of marijuana from a man named Ram of Rajahmundra and allegedly paid for a shipment of 1.85 lakh. They planned to sell it for higher rates to the buyer in Hyderabad, marked as Shiva. Both Ram and Shiva are currently running.
In addition to smuggling, the police seized a car used in transport, four mobile phones, a notebook and 3,000 GBP in cash.
