Three held in five POCSO cases at Bekal in Kerala’s Kasaragod

Three men have been arrested in connection with five Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) cases related to the alleged sexual abuse of a 17-year-old girl at Bekal police station, police said on Friday (July 3, 2026).

The arrests were made following an investigation launched on the basis of a complaint filed by the Committee for the Protection of Children (CWC). Noushad (29) of Kurukkankunnu, Shareef (40) of Perumbala and Salih (29) of Kottikkulam were arrested. They were arraigned and placed in judicial custody.

Police said investigations revealed the girl had been sexually abused by five different people on different occasions over the past year.
