Three disabled engineers suspended

The state government has suspended three Public Works Department (PWD) engineers for failing to complete the construction of Kunnathur Mini Civil Station in Thiruvananthapuram, a project included in the UDF government’s 100-day action plan, within the stipulated time frame.

Sreeja MS, Executive Engineer, Kollam Buildings Division, Sunitha A., Assistant Executive Engineer, Karunagappally Buildings Sub-division, and Manju Philip, Assistant Engineer, Sasthamcotta Buildings Section, have been suspended from duty pending investigation.

An explanation was also sought from Santhosh Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Karunagappally Building Sub-Division, on the matter. The suspension was ordered based on a report submitted by the Chief Engineer of the Buildings Wing.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Minister of PWD here on Monday, the construction of the mini civic station was taken over by the Uralungské pravodů družstvo with a contractual requirement to complete the project within 18 months from the signing of the contract on February 28, 2024.
