Three people were killed and three more seriously injured in the explosion reportedly due to leakage of the LPG war, near the fishing port of Bukkavariveedhi on Thursday evening.
The explosion took place in a welding shop, which falls within the 38 department of the larger Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), as part of the One Town Police Station limits.
The deceased was identified by one municipal police as the owner of the shop Ch. Ganesh and Srinivas and Ch. Mutolo. While Ganesh and Srinivas died on the spot, Mutual succumbed to injury later.
The injuries were identified as Y. Yellaji (Madhurawada), T. Sanyasi Rao (Aril) and I. Ranga Rao (Avn College Road) in the city.
The injuries were taken to the nearby King George Hospital (KGH), where they are treated in an intensive care unit, said hospital supervisor. Vani to the media.
Most victims suffered over 80% of burns, hospital officials said.
Collector MN Harendhira Prasad and local MLA (Visakhapatnam Southi) Vamsi Krishna Srinivas Yadav visited an explosive place and hospital and ordered hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment of the injured. Visakhapatnam Commissioner Shankabrata Bagchi also visited the hospital.
Visakhapatnam district, charged Minister of Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swama, expressed his sound over the loss of lives in his message.
Former Main Minister Yagan Mohan Reddy in his message expressed sorrow and shock over a tragic explosion. He described the incident so deeply painful and called on the state government to ensure immediate and high -quality medical care to the injured and to provide comprehensive assistance to the families of the deceased.
